When you need to take a simple snapshot of the screen, advanced screenshot utilities tend to complicate the process. You must bring up an interface and choose from a large variety of screenshot options. TornadoCapture simplifies this process. All you have to do is hit a keyboard shortcut and save your screenshot.

The application's setup file is only 308 KB, so you can download it in a few moments. The installation procedure is just as fast and you don't need to make any complex adjustments or install prerequisite tools.

When taking a snapshot, you must draw a rectangle, to target a specific region of the screen. You can use different keyboard shortcuts to save your screenshot to the clipboard or save it as a file. The shortcuts are displayed on a small window, which can be set to appear each time you run the application, so you will not forget the combinations.

If you choose to save your screenshot as a file, TornadoCapture will place a few editing options at your disposal. It will load the image on a compact interface, on which you may resize, invert, flip or rotate the picture. The image can be saved in various formats, including JPG, PNG, BMP and others. It is also possible to save it as an icon.

Pros

TornadoCapture is very easy to use. All you need to do to take a snapshot of the screen is hit a keyboard shortcut. The application allows you to copy the image to the clipboard or perform a few basic editing tasks and save it as a file.

Cons

You can not make any configurations, like defining your own keyboard shortcuts. With TornadoCapture, taking snapshots of the screen can not be more straightforward.
